Event Type:
Exhibition
Details:
Using signage systems to explore how extreme climate and water scarcity re-shape culture in Barcelona. Informed through a series of global installations of imagined public policies through signage, ‘Signs of Change – Signes di Canvi’ research cultivates hyper-local knowledge and perspectives on extreme climate disruptions. In particular, the population of Barcelona faces significant challenges in regards to the ongoing water scarcity crisis, which will see substantial shifts in daily rituals, routines and behaviors as the region of Catalonia attempts to circumvent emerging and future tensions. This workshop, installation and walking tour puts emphasis on future-making as a collective practice. Using unique facilitation toolkits to activate critical and strategic thinking, you will explore the impact water scarcity might have on your role and responsibility while collaborating with participants to develop new community-led actions based on emerging values that reconsider our relationship to water and water systems. We look forward to working together with all communities, citizens and organizations. This edition of Signs of Change was developed in collaboration with Barcelona-based trend researchers Geraldine Kann and Giulia Maria Moschen Bracho. Location: El Taller del Clot.
