Workshop

Our first event brought together visionaries from SGInnovate, a government-owned innovation platform in Singapore centered on the development of deep technology and esteemed members of the Sweden Indo-Pacific Business Summit. Prefaced with a keynote talk discussing how Speculative Design methods can be leveraged to elevate strategy and innovation practices, participants engaged with various locally contextualized signs exploring the impacts of geoengineering, social currency, public VR regulations and new upskilling practices responding to the digital divide. Groups shared their perceived impacts expressing how they and their organizations might need to shift and adapt to be relevant and thrive in these disrupted futures. Signs of Change was hosted by the Center for Strategic Futures (CSF), a pioneering futures think tank situated within the Strategic Policy Office of the Singaporean government. Designed for government and municipality officials, this event was part of their 'sandbox' series. CSF invites forward-thinking practitioners to share cutting-edge methods, processes, and practices for strategic foresight and innovation. Here, government officials explored how their respective departments might address their blind-spots, embark on open-ended long-term futures research, and experiment with new foresight methodologies.
